An important message from the Chairman of the Governors, It is with great pleasure that we are able to announce that, thanks to your past and ongoing support, we will be opening a new campus for the Academy in January 2007. It is appropriate that, as we have taken the traditional English public school as the model for our own operations, we have purchased the buildings for our new campus on the outskirts of London.
The main building of our new English campus The new campus will provide a home for up to 600 new students, both from the U.K. and abroad. We are delighted to welcome Dr Headley Player M.A., PhD, M.Ed. (Cantab.) as Headmaster. English-born Dr Player returns to his homeland with a wealth of experience, following previous successful appointments as Deputy Head of Foley College, Florida, and Head of Discipline at the Castro Reformatory for Boys, San Francisco.
Headmaster Dr Headley Player Dr Player is already well advanced along the road of appointing staff and selecting students. With the traditional Academy emphasis on our boys’ health and welfare, he has already selected Dr Terrence Milron M.D. as the campus medical director. Dr Milron hopes to use his time at St Samuel’s to build upon his earlier research, first published in his groundbreaking study The eager sphincter: sexual practice in juvenile reformatories (Bangkok, 2002).
Dr Player is already well advanced in the final selection of the first intake of pupils and we are delighted to be able to introduce you to a few of them here.
